Interact Talks IVR System Developments

ITEXPO (News - Alert) East 2012 witnessed the gathering of an unprecedented host of thought leaders in the communications technology space in early February in Miami, among them Ed McKee, director of marketing for Interact.
As a provider of IVR systems and voice application solutions, Interact is at the forefront of the voice software movement towards cloud-based options and IVR for improved business performance.
“Our principle product is a SIP media gateway product. We started with old telephony boards, and now we’ve moved into the voice-over-IP world. Most recently, we’re introducing our new cloud product,” said McKee in a video interview with Managing Editor for TMCnet, Stefanie Mosca. He emphasized the growing prevalence of VoIP phone systems, which is nothing new, but made mention of the fact that many businesses implement VoIP without knowing how to take full advantage of it:
“The big thing that we’ve noticed though is that these people put in VoIP systems and they end up with just dialtone on their desks. They haven’t been able to truly utilize some of the amazing technologies that are available out there.”
McKee recommends that the interested customer in a cloud-based solution “really look at what you intend to do.” As Interact deals mostly with customers that need to integrate multiple channels with their communication networks, he noted that the challenge now is for providers to figure out how to integrate voice with mobile, social media, and all the other rapidly developing channels for communication nowadays.
“We’ve developed this platform in a way that a Web developer, not a voice or information processing person, can get in there, work with the platform, and fully integrate it into what their needs are in the IT infrastructure,” said McKee.
