The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) has announced the completion of the test-in phase for Authentidate's (News - Alert) Electronic House Call (EHC) vital signs monitoring device and Web service.
Authentidate provides secure Web-based software applications and telehealth products and services for healthcare organizations. The company notes that the department has also given its approval for VA facilities throughout the country to order and use the EHC solution.
The EHC solution will help the VA facilities to remotely monitor patients and enhance patient care for veterans in their national Care Coordination Home Telehealth program. The EHC and the Web service was tested in a pilot program in many field locations. The testing was successful and later the EHC solution was approved for VA field deployment. The solution will now be used in VA’s national telehealth program throughout the United States and its territories.
Authentidate notes that the EHC is compatible with all of the peripherals presently used in the VA telehealth program and can be customized to interact with additional standard peripherals that may be used by the VA in the future.
Shipping of the solution has already begun and the EHC units have been sent to the VA Denver Acquisitions and Logistics Center (DALC).
Another solution from Authentidate called the Interactive Voice Response (IVR) telehealth solution is currently undergoing pilot testing for field deployment and use in the VA's national telehealth program.
“Authentidate has worked closely with the VA over the last year to ensure that we deliver a quality solution to our veterans and the care coordinators who care for them, including the new comprehensive VA approved DMPs that we have incorporated into our EHC and IVR offerings,” said Gavin Stewart, vice president Business Development at Authentidate.
