Espial (News - Alert) is one of 106 IPTV systems and software companies included in Research and Markets’ “IPTV (News - Alert) Market Leader Report September 2007,” released today. The report recognizes the companies that are at the lead of each of the six IPTV markets, both globally and within the four regional markets they regularly track.
Including a ranking of the leading companies in each product category, the report also lists the amount of channels or subscribers they currently support. The totals take into account deployments where the suppliers have not been identified, as well as subscribers served by systems developed by the service provider.
The potential growth prospects for each company in the report were based on the number of large IPTV service deployments in which the companies are participating—included are tables that identify these deployments. The report defines a “significant deployment” as one that has been announced and is expected to be one of the world’s top 25 systems by number of IPTV subscribers in 2010
In addition to Espial, also mentioned in the report are such companies as Alcatel-Lucent, AT&T, China Telecom, Cisco (Scientific-Atlanta), Ericsson, Microsoft, Motorola, Nokia (News - Alert), OnDemandTV, Panasonic, Philips, Samsung, Verizon and Zhone.
