NTT America, a wholly owned U.S. subsidiary of
NTT Communications Corporation, has extended its North American presence to Boston, with the launch of a Point of Presence or "PoP" for Arcstar global managed network services.
Officials with NTT America (News - Alert) said that the new Arcstar PoP enables the company to provide multi-national corporations in region with high-capacity, efficient networks to support their global operations, particularly to the Asia-Pacific region and beyond.
Company officials said that the new capability, which extends MPLS IP-VPN services along the east coast, also enhances NTT America's ability to serve overseas companies investing in Greater Boston.
Parent company NTT Communications (News - Alert) is a major player in global networking, providing over 100,000 MPLS ports around the world.
Boston is a key economic, communications and transportation center and is home to a number of finance and technology companies, particularly as a hub for the biotechnology sector.
It is especially important to NTT America's North American business, and brings greater depth to the company's expanding US network to satisfy local customer needs for low-latency, cost-effective global connectivity.
"As we observe further growth of our business in overseas markets, it becomes even more critical to partner with a provider who has strong reach to such markets as well as continuous commitment to expand their U.S. investment," said Mike Doyle, Director, IS Operations telecommunications, Millipore, in a statement. "We are happy to see this local expansion that will enhance their ability to satisfy our needs for low-latency, cost-effective global connectivity."
Jun Nojima, vice president of the Enterprise Solution Business Unit for NTT America said that NTT America is committed to extending and deepening its North American reach and Boston is a key part of that strategy.
"Based upon demand from our customers in the U.S. and around the World, we identified Boston as an important step in our U.S. expansion, and are very pleased to be able to support the global requirements of companies who have invested in the Greater Boston metropolitan area," said Nojima.
NTT America provides enterprise hosting, managed network, and IP networking services for enterprise customers and service providers worldwide.
