NTT America, a U.S. subsidiary of NTT Communications (News - Alert) Corporation, and a Tier-1 global IP transit service provider, today announced that it has become a Diamond Sponsor of NewNOG. NewNOG, a community based non-profit and current owner of NANOG (News - Alert), is an educational platform designed to promote interactions between network operators and vendor communities.
NTT America is North America’s connection to the Asia-Pacific region, which allows for strong capabilities in the U.S. market. NTT America (News - Alert) provides world-class Enterprise Hosting, managed network, and IP networking services for enterprise customers and service providers worldwide.
“NTT America has been a longtime supporter of NANOG, and we’re looking forward to increasing our involvement with the organization during the coming year,” said Michael Wheeler (News - Alert), vice president, Global IP Network, at NTT America. “NewNOG is a valuable resource, and we appreciate the group’s contribution to our industry.”
The newly formed partnership will enable support for NewNOG events and activities, which will help NTT America to elevate its presence in and participation with the North American Network Operators Group (NANOG) community, the press release stated.
“Diamond Sponsorships are limited to only a small number of companies per year – companies that are true leaders in the space,” said Betty Burke, executive director of NewNOG. “NTT America was a natural fit for this premier level of sponsorship given their strong history in the market as well as their consistent involvement in the NANOG organization over the years.”
NewNOG is currently working on promoting conversations about the creation, maintenance and operation of Internet Protocol networks. The group provides an educational forum where the operators of backbone and enterprise networks have the ability to share information with one another, including operational best practices.
