Global Industry Analysts, Inc., a provider of off-the-shelf market research services, has announced in its latest report that the overall market for information technology and communications networking equipment and products will touch the figure of $214.2 billion by the year 2015.

Established in the year 1987, the company employs more than 800 people globally at present, and publishes over 1300 full-scale research reports every year, analyzing more than 40,000 markets.

Titled “Networking Hardware and Software: A Global Outlook,” the new research report offers a wide collection of market briefs, concise summaries of its results and statistical anecdotes. It also provides a general view of the industry and takes latest trends and demand drivers into account to deliver a comprehensive account of the overall market. The study covers a number of regional markets, such as the U.S., Spain, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, China, Hong Kong, India, Korea, , Taiwan, the UAE, Brazil and Venezuela.

As the penetration of Internet access has been increasing in farther and remote areas of the world every day, the market demand for global networking hardware and software solutions is expected to be driven at a rapid rate in near future. The emerging markets such as Asia-Pacific, Latin America and Eastern Europe will particularly show a high surge in demand for these products, emphasizes the study.

A number of technological advancements have been made in the computer networking sector during the last few decades. With the help of these innovations, it is possible now to enjoy very high computer networking speeds, much beyond the standard 10-Gigabit Ethernet. With ever-increasing networking speeds, from data transmission speeds of 100 megabits per second to 10 gigabits per second to now over 100 gigabits per second; the business requirements for these speeds have also been increasing steadily. Especially, bandwidth intensive multimedia content such as video, voice and online 3D gaming has been compelling network service providers to upgrade the data transfer rate capability of their networks, suggests the report.

Further, it says that the ever growing demand for connectivity, new applications based on Internet Protocol and increasing awareness about the security of business data among enterprises has been pushing the network and data communications equipment market to expand the array of solutions suiting different technical needs of the service providers.

In August 2011, Global Industry Analysts Inc. announced in its new report that the global 40 and 100 Gigabit Ethernet market will reach $5.9 Billion in value by the year 2017, triggered by the extensive use of higher bandwidth requirements like Cloud computing, high-speed broadband, data warehousing and server virtualization. This was GIA’s comprehensive report on Gigabit Ethernet market.
