snom 870 IP Phone Adds Microsoft Outlook Integration
By Tim Gray, TMCnet Web Editor
As the Unified Communications (News - Alert) space continues to evolve, innovative companies like Camrivox are extending their reach by bringing their software to the IP phone space.
Camrivox, an innovator and developer of Computer Telephony Integration (CTI) software, has furthered those efforts with the announcement that its Flexor CTI software is now available for snom technology AG’s (News - Alert) flagship IP phone, the snom 870.
snom is developer and manufacturer of Voice-over-IP (VoIP) telephones.
The Flexor CTI software is designed to seamlessly combine Microsoft (News - Alert) Outlook and CRM applications such as Dynamics CRM, Salesforce andNetSuite within the IP telephony framework.
The Flexor CTI delivers call features such as click-to-dial, on-screen call control and journaling, while call logging enables management reporting and analysis to maximize call performance and efficiency, according to the company.
Included in the features of the snom 870 is a touch screen interface enabling ‘Drag and Drop’ call handling, which Malcolm Wood (News - Alert) CEO of Camrivox, says complements Flexor CTI software by instantly calling up Outlook or CRM contact details and records onto a user’s PC desktop whenever a call is made or received.
“In conjunction with snom, who continue to expand their market-leading product range to give customers what they want, Flexor CTI is widening its reach into the SME market and creating significant business advantage for our growing customer base,” said Wood.
Wood says Flexor CTI bypasses the need for costly servers and IT support and instead is designed for speeding implementation and minimizing financial risk.
“And with our no-strings offer of a free Flexor CTI for Outlook license, we’ve removed all barriers to the CTI experience,” said Wood. “We believe CTI should be accessible to all companies, regardless of size,” said Wood.
As TMCnet recently reported, snom continues to scale its channel sales program throughout North America and has added talent to aid expansion.
The company, headquartered in Berlin with North American center operations in Massachusetts, announced this week it has appointed Tom Ostrander as Eastern Region Sales Channel Manager.
In addition to expansion, snom has made impressive inroads in driving more users to the VoIP business model. The company this past year instituted a worldwide series of training events on installing the VoIP telecommunications systems by Asterisk (News - Alert) ( News - Alert) and snom’s VoIP telephones.
