Panasonic (News - Alert), a manufacturer of business telephones, recently announced the launch of its new KX-TGP600 SIP cordless phone system that can handle up to eight phone numbers and eight calls at once.

The system is meant to address the needs of small and midsize businesses that want an SIP phone system that is both flexible and easy to set up. It can connect with Panasonic IP phones such as those in the new KX-HDV series that can provide users with high-definition voice.

Kim Murtagh, the senior product manager of the Unified Communications (News - Alert) department at Panasonic, commented that this phone system ties into the rise of the unified communications market, which has allowed businesses to become more mobile.

“The Unified Communications industry has undergone rapid changes over the past few years from a more mobile workforce to the increasing popularity of cloud-based delivery models,” Murtagh said.

KX-TGP600 tries to provide businesses with mobility options through its versatile nature. Its support for multiple phone numbers and simultaneous calling gives office members the freedom to handle connections with others in ways that suit them best. The phone system support both cordless and corded phones to also help address those needs.

The unified communications market is expected to reach more than $75 billion by 2020. A study from Grand View Research, showed that the geographical regions of Europe and Asia Pacific will drive that growth. North America, where Panasonic may look to provide this new phone system, will also play a strong part.

Private and government-based entities are expected to join this growth by reaching out to service providers and product manufacturers. Phone (News - Alert) systems such as the KX-TGP600 can transform the way in which such entities work, and as they expand, organizations may feel the need to adopt phone systems that remain flexible.
