Keeping in touch is one of the biggest parts of an office's operations, and the systems required to help keep communication high can sometimes be difficult to work with. But Uniden (News - Alert) recently launched its new Uniden Office Express 1600, and this system is designed to help keep users connected via a wide array of options, all from one central platform.

The UOE1600, as it's otherwise known, offers support for not only public switched telephone network (PSTN) phone lines, but also voice over Internet protocol (VoIP) lines as well. It offers a built-in Wi-Fi router along with its own firewall security, making sure that the phone connection doesn't turn out to be a connection for hackers instead. It can be used with either cordless or corded phones, so the need to replace hardware doesn't really come into play here. It boasts hold music options, one touch call recording systems, support for remote extensions, caller ID options and many more.

Designed for smaller offices, particularly those with employee counts of somewhere between two and 50 total users, the UOE1600 offers plug-and-play functionality. Those interested, meanwhile, can pick one up from several different sources, including VoIPLINK.com, Uniden's own website, and Amazon for a range of prices depending on desired options. On Amazon, the UOE1600 server with 24 UIP3000 desk phones can be had for $3,119, marked down from $4,350.

Meanwhile, Uniden's vice president of business communication solutions, Brett Morrison, offered up some comment around the new system's release, saying “This new hybrid telephone system was designed to transform small to medium business telecommunication. The Uniden Office Express 1600 is plug and play right out-of-the-box with the system ready-to-use, removing the traditional installation and programming steps and related charges that can quickly triple your total costs for a phone system.”

Uniden has a pretty sound value proposition here, offering up a device that comes with panoply of options and an equally wide array of use cases likely can't end badly for those who put such a tool to use. While some smaller offices might be concerned about the price tag (News - Alert) involved, considering the wide amount of options involved in a tool like this that can be extended to cover much of the operation's potential user base makes this an effective all-in-one system. There's generally something to be said for buying all-in-one capability, as it often represents the last time such a purchase needs to be made. Better yet, it actually covers some fronts that may not be currently used, and so if a company isn't already using things like call recording, or conferencing options, a tool like this may well spawn the wider use of these tools. Basically, the company will have such options on hand, and put these to use, which in turn can generate a variety of new opportunities from there.

While Uniden's UOE1600 may not be the answer to every company's every problem, it does have plenty of tools in its toolbox, so to speak. As such, this is the kind of tool that could represent a big turnaround for its users, and the start of some great possibilities to follow.
