Hosted VoIP a Winner for NZ Resellers
By Mae Kowalke, TMCnet Contributor

For New Zealand communications services distributor, Connector Systems, Cloud-VoIP offerings definitely are the way to go.

The company already offers wireless-as-a-service and backup-as-a-service for its resellers, and cloud-based phone service is almost a no-brainer.

“The quickest way for a reseller to grow their revenue is to try and do more with their current customer base,” notes Mark Dasent, ANZ general manager for Connector Systems.

The company’s new cloud voice offering uses 3CX software built into Connector System’s cloud platform, and it bundles Yealink (News - Alert) phones for businesses that need them.

“It’s all multi-tenanted so we are able to sell out to resellers their own voice cloud offering, and then on the end of those we are bundling Yealink phones,” says Dasent.

The company’s wireless-as-a-service offering has been gaining traction, according to Dasent, and that has helped give the company reason to expand its lineup.

“We really are trying to push our whole cloud and as-a-service type offerings,” Dasent notes.

Bundling Yealink phones with the service also makes sense, since they are big sellers for Connector Systems at the moment. The company has even hired a new inside sales representative to champion the Yealink offerings because the value proposition is so great and the company sees opportunities.

Next week Yealink is scheduled to launch its newest IP-based phone, the SIP-T40P, a model that the vendor says will redefine entry-level phones by offering slick design and great performance but without a high price tag (News - Alert).

The Yealink SIP-T40P include three SIP line appearances, programmable dual-LED keys, PoE support and a headset port with EHS support, according to Yealink. The phone’s audio quality makes it sound as though callers are talking in-person, and the buttons and backlit display are easy to interact with.

Overall, Connector Systems is quite bullish about the opportunities for VoIP and cloud-based phone services in New Zealand. Both the company and its resellers have a strong hand to increase sales through the offering.
