With all the latest innovations in communications technologies, it can be easy to ignore the need for advanced hardware when enveloped with all the software and protocols that make up IP, SIP, networking, SIM control, SMS messaging, email, and voice and video collaboration. Fortunately for its business customers in Lebanon, one IT and communications hardware manufacturer is working to provide them with the latest technologies that can handle all the technologies listed above.
Cisco (News - Alert) recently announced the release of its DX70 and DX80 desktop collaboration devices. Alongside the company's IP Phone 8800 Series, a news brief at Zawya indicates, the desktop units are able to help employees feel like they are in the same office – even if they are continents apart. The news suggests that Lebanese employees must be able to collaborate with other employees at a moment's notice so they can quickly make their connections and get back to their other pressing tasks. It quotes Wael Hassan, collaboration sales lead at Cisco Gulf in Levant Pakistan, who says that the DX-series devices are "mind-blowing" in the way they can help employees interact.
"The new DX70 and DX80 were designed from the ground up to provide the best collaboration experience for every desk in an enterprise in Lebanon," Hassan said. "They are truly mind-blowing devices. Users can now have their own always-on private meeting room to collaborate with anyone on any device at any time."
A short video describing the devices shows that they are touch-based, can integrate with laptops and other mobile devices, cost less than a set of hearing aids, and can send and receive video and audio, all while quieting outside noises, to make videoconferences both possible and more effective. Zawya says the devices are Android (News - Alert)-based and are able to take the place of several other devices that once cluttered workers' desks. They can effectively take over for phones, webcams, monitors, and many other single-purpose pieces of technology.
Cisco has also announced the launch of its IP Phone (News - Alert) 8800 Series to commemorate its 15th year of developing IP phones. It says the phone is its best audio IP phone in its portfolio, and like the DX devices, it can multi-task by connecting to USB devices, easily import contacts and call histories, and collaborate with mobile phones by transferring voice and video calls.
