Yealink (News - Alert) is a SIP phone supplier and a provider of VoIP phone and IP communication solutions. Customers from more than 140 countries rely routinely on Yealink as a backbone for global IP integration to extend the value of modern network communications. The company recently confirmed that it has successfully cleared advanced interoperability tests (IOT) with Far South Networks, a telecom vendor in South Africa.
Far South Networks is a designer and manufacturer of IP telephony platforms. The company’s products integrate high-end communications hardware with open standards-based telephony software applications, enabling its business user with cost effective, full-featured, reliable and easy to use platforms for the converged voice and data market. Far South Networks products are designed and manufactured in South Africa for South African conditions, using open standards and open architectures.
In May 2011, Far South Networks completed its first successful IOT with the IP phones, then available from Yealink. This was carried out between Com.X software release 1.2 and Yealink T18P, T20P, T22P and T28P range. Technical progress has continued since then, resulting in the most recent tests.
During 2013, both Yealink and Far South Networks announced key new developments. Eventually, in June 2013 Far South Networks launched its new software release for Com.X, revision 1.3, for all Com.X platforms, which delivers a 3-in-One feature package, supporting feature set migration from SIP Gateway (News - Alert) to in-the-box, on-site PBX or an IP Centrex based service delivery.
Both companies, who share a very similar business philosophy, are now committed to maintaining this positive IOT status into the future, for the benefit of all IP telephony resellers and service providers in Southern Africa.
This latest Com.X software revision was modified and enhanced to support all Yealink V70 and V71 devices. Comprehensive test results have now revealed an absolutely perfect performance by Yealink.
Earlier this year, Yealink released its new ‘M7’ firmware V70 and V71 - known as the unified auto-provisioning template which offers unified configuration files and deployment methods for Yealink’s full range of IP devices, including the T2X, T3X, T4X, W52P and VP530. Also, the company released two new IP Phones ideal for SMEs.
