Foehn, a managed communications provider, has launched a resource as guidance for SMEs on using business communications to help them become more agile and productive, reduce costs and stay competitive.
Officials with Foehn said its site, http://www.foehn.co.uk, will feature educational content such as videos, case studies and whitepapers for SMEs looking to switch to cloud communications with softphone systems and open source telephony. Foehn is a provider of telephony products such as hosted VoIP telephony, call center systems, enterprise systems, small business systems, inbound call handing, disaster recovery systems and PCI (News - Alert)-compliant call recording.
Company officials pointed out that Foehn's online resource center includes buyers guide to hosted VoIP telephony. Foehn's operations director, Gary Muchmore, discusses how SMEs can choose the best solutions for their business communications needs by keeping hosted VoIP phone systems simple.
It also includes resources for hosted telephony, the trend of using phone systems hosted in the cloud, and the benefits, from lower cost of ownership and scalability to the need for minimal IT support. Foehn's managing director, James Passingham, introduced the business benefits of modern hosted telephone systems for SMEs and key trends for SMEs using hosted phones, such as simple telephone systems and fully integrated communications in call centers.

The video discusses trends like start-ups exclusively using cloud phone systems for their e-mail, applications and telephone services and how recruitment firm Marketingmoves saved 50 percent of its annual communications bill.

Low Cost Travel's group IT manager, Steve Darlington, explains how the Asterisk (News - Alert)-based PBX solution helped Low Cost Travel increase call center conversion by 20 percent, call handling productivity by 25 percent and customer retention by 40 percent. Using Open Source (News - Alert) VoIP technology, Low Cost Travel changed its business process to support remote workers to reduce their cost per employee, to aid their growth.
The online resource center also includes a Onetest Express hosted VoIP case study. Its Director, Simon Trigg of psychometric test experts, discusses how hosted phone systems met his need for simplicity and flexibility when he was setting up his business.
