This Enterprise Session Border Controller (E-SBC) serves as a VoIP-specific firewall to protect an IP PBX (News - Alert) from intruders and the Mediant 800 is an essential need for small and medium enterprises (SME).

AudioCodes Mediant 800 can address the convergence of secured voice services, stand-alone survivability, data routing and VoIP security, WAN access, mediation services and service level assurance. It also functions as an enhanced media gateway, providing a wide array of features that includes enhanced dialing plans and voice routing capabilities along with SIP to SIP mediation, which allows SME's to use SIP trunking, IP centrex systems, unified communications, flexible PSTN connectivity as well as connecting legacy PBX's to VoIP.
