snom Receives Cirpack's Certification to Deliver Carrier-grade Solutions for ITSPs

By Tim Gray, TMCnet Web Editor

snom technology, a developer and manufacturer of advanced Voice over IP phones for the enterprise and residential markets, today announced the integration of its SIP-based phone portfolio with Thomson's (News - Alert) CIRPACK voice switching platforms and IP Centrex application server.

snom's 3xx series VoIP phones received full certification by Thomson's Lab as interoperable and deployable with Thomson's CIRPACK softswitches enabling service providers to accelerate the delivery of Class 5 VoIP services to the enterprise and residential markets, including advanced SIP-based IP Centrex features.

The company, with headquarters in both Massachusetts and Berlin, said certification was attained after rigorous testing and evaluation.

"Achieving full certification with Thomson's CIRPACK, a leading VoIP infrastructure vendor, highlights the strategic advantages of delivering the industry's most advanced and interoperable SIP phones," said Michael Knieling executive vice president of Marketing and Sales.

The CIRPACK softswitch solutions enables massive deployments of broadband and legacy telephony, including ISDN, VoIP, IP Centrex and Fixed-Mobile Convergence (News - Alert) with a migration path to IMS/TISPAN architecture, according to the company.

CIRPACK switches, which are fully integrated with Thomson's SmartVision IPTV platforms, allow operators to deploy quadruple play services on a large scale, offering primary line telephony services with carrier-grade reliability.

"Carriers considering a VoIP solution featuring snom phones at the end point and CIRPACK softswitches in the core, will be able to rapidly deliver high value SIP services with assured performance and reliability due to the testing and full integration of CIRPACK infrastructure with snom," said Knieling.
