Now snom Does IP PBXs: One is Free

By Bob Emmerson, TMC European Editor

snom technology, definitely one of the most recognized international names in business IP desktop phones, has released snom ONE: a new family of IP PBX (News - Alert) systems that runs on standard servers. The design concept is based on simplicity and affordability, thereby enabling even small SMBs to employ an advanced IP PBX system along with snom's suite of IP desktop and wireless DECT (News - Alert) phones.

The snom ONE is available in North America through the company’s distributors and VARs. There are three versions: snom ONE free (downloadable), for up to 10 extensions, snom ONE yellow (for up to 20 extensions) and snom ONE blue (unlimited number of extensions and multi-tenant capabilities up to five companies). All versions offer the full feature set, including hunt and ACD groups, mailbox, auto attendant, conference rooms and paging, and are designed to take full advantage of the hardware features of snom's suite of desktop phones and endpoints. snom ONE blue also allows up to five separate corporate tenants, supporting multiple organizations to operate using a single IP PBX.

Christian Stredicke (News - Alert), founder and CEO: "In the past few years, we have seen an increasing demand for a powerful, yet easy to install and operate IP PBX that takes the full feature set of our endpoints and makes it accessible to the SMB market. Customers want phone systems that just work without having to worry about RFC numbers and interoperability discussions. snom ONE does exactly that. Using the SIP protocol makes sure that we leverage the large amount of SIP devices and services in the market that make it possible to set up a great enterprise communications system even in smaller deployments."

Thee PBXs integrate seamlessly with snom desktop and DECT phones and feature all the functionality of standards-based IP PBX platforms, including simultaneous ringing of desktop and cell phone, multiple extension aliases, centralized address book, hot desking, voice mail, shared line emulation and a web interface for provisioning and management. They are compatible with Windows, Linux and Mac environments and feature robust Web security through HTTPS and call security through TLS and SRTP. In addition, they support mixed IPv4/IPv6 LAN and WAN environments and come with an automatic blacklisting feature that makes it possible to expose public IP addresses.

Be sure to check out Snom in Booth #300 at AstriCon 2010 happening Oct. 26-28 in National Harbor, MD.
