Snom to Hit the Convention Circuit a Bit Early
By Steve Anderson, Contributing TMCnet Writer
For those who are interested in keeping up with the very latest in IP phones, there's some great news coming out of snom, who plans to hit the convention circuit a little early. They've got two conventions slated for the month of May, and they'll be bringing plenty along with them.
They call it the spring tour and it actually just finished its first showing at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center, where they put on an event running from May 2 to May 6. For those that missed the Mandalay Bay show, snom will next travel to The Cable Show at the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center May 21 through May 23.
Snom's spring tour will be featuring their UC edition of their business phones, which are geared specifically to work with Microsoft (News
- Alert) Lync, as well as snom's earlier ONE line--Plus, Free, Blue and Yellow alike--of IP-PBX (News - Alert) hardware, and their newest 7xx series SIP phones, as well as what they're describing as "some of your all-time favorites".
But that's not the end of snom's charm offensive; in fact it's only the beginning. They also have plans for two shows in Orlando, one with Microsoft Tech Ed June 11 through June 14, and the Channel Partners event September 12 through September 14. Also, they'll be making an appearance at the Microsoft World Partner Conference in Toronto, Ontario, Canada July 9 through July 13.
It's readily apparent that snom wants to show off the full extent of their product lineup, and is taking to the road in a downright vigorous fashion. And while they certainly have a sufficiently extensive product line, it will remain to be seen if the force of a chain of trade shows and conventions will give them the kind of market clout any business so sorely needs to survive these days. But give snom credit for sheer effort, as their strategy certainly doesn't lack for sheer aggressiveness.
