Officials of IP telephony seller snom UK have announced a distribution deal with BT’s (News - Alert) IT hardware, software and services business, BT Business Direct.

According to snom UK officials, the agreement will allow BT’s business customers to purchase snom’s range of products, including IP phones and IP-PBX (News - Alert) offerings, directly through the BT Business Direct online store.

The partnership will also provide customers with an exclusive product bundle of the snom ONE Plus IP phone system, an unlimited number of user licenses, and seven IP desktop phones.

Daryl Platt, B2B Director at BT Business Direct, notes that more and more businesses are looking to take advantage of IP telephony, “and by offering snom’s products through our site, we can meet the needs of our customers.”

Under terms of the deal snom Certified Engineer courses will be made available for resellers under the BT SCE program once a month, providing those on the course with a chance to gain experience and snom Certified Engineer status. Full support and dedicated provisioning is also available for all snom products purchased through BT Business Direct.

Last week TMC (News - Alert) had the news that BT today announced the appointment of Carl-Erik Lagercrantz to head its operations across the Nordics as of October 1st.

Lagercrantz will be in charge of BT's business in Sweden, Norway, Finland, Denmark and the Baltic States. BT has been present in the Nordics with direct operations since 1989 and today serves customers from offices in Stockholm, Malmo, Oslo, Helsinki and Copenhagen.

Lagercrantz joins BT from Telenor (News - Alert), where he was most recently chairman of the board of Net4Mobility, Telenor's joint venture with Tele2, specializing in 4G network deployment and integration of GSM networks.
