snom Receives Strong Feedback for IP Phone System snom ONE

By Susan J. Campbell, TMCnet Contributing Editor

Last week, TMCnet introduced you to the IP phone system product line from snom, known as snom ONE. The snom ONE solution is described by company officials as a “fully blown, ready to go IP PBX (News - Alert).” Available in three different levels to serve a full range of company sizes, the snom ONE comes with features such as voicemail, auto attending and more.

Now, according to this snom blog post, the company has received great feedback in the VoIP community. In the VoipInsider, Garret Smith shared in his blog that the snom ONE caught his eye as the one thing that gives the company a unique competitive differentiator and is likely to be very popular with businesses of all sizes. The ONE software integrates well with multiple operating systems and Smith believes that if this line is engineered and designed like the rest of snom’s offerings, the market is likely to see a winner.

In his post, Matt Landis shared that joining snom is a great move. He hopes snom will be able to find a good balance between “openness and closedness” in the snom ONE. He also hopes the company will be able to provide responsive support in some fashion. In his opinion, the snom ONE solution is an extremely sound, secure and feature rich product and he is excited about introducing more people to the snom ONE line.

Landis went on to share that on a whim, he decided to see how easy it was to install snom ONE phone system on a MacBook. He made note that this process was very easy and in just about 5 minutes later, the snom ONE PBX was humming away on his little while MacBook with an extension registered and ready to roll. In a word, his reaction was, “Wow!”

Dave Michels weighed in on the snom ONE in this piece, sharing that what makes the product so unique is that it can be loaded on a Linux, Windows or MacOS computer. The product line also offers plug and play auto configuration with snom phones. “I can’t think of any phone system that works with MacOS – it just might become a strong niche play for that market,” said Michels.

snom is understandably excited about this feedback as the company continues to extend this fully-loaded IP phone system across the marketplace.
