By Anshu Shrivastava, TMCnet Contributor

Interactive Intelligence (News - Alert), a developer of unified IP business communications solutions, has been named one of the 2008 “Best Places to Work in Indiana,” by the Indiana Chamber of Commerce.

Improving its seventh place rank from last year, Interactive Intelligence ranked sixth among the top 25 large companies.

“This company is unique because its flexible environment enables me to work the way that fits me best,” said Jeff Gerardot, director of development at Interactive Intelligence.

He also said that his company’s innovative culture provides an environment of high-caliber people with great ideas. “I'm always learning new things here," he said.

The only publicly traded technology software company in Indiana, Interactive Intelligence says that it has added nearly 100 employees since last year’s ranking.

Currently the company has more than 600 total employees at its global headquarters in Indianapolis, and in offices throughout North America, Europe and Asia Pacific.

The company claims its offers higher than Indiana-average wages and extends several benefits to its employees including a comprehensive health and vision insurance program, a wellness program, a 401(k) matching program, tuition reimbursement, a computer loan purchase plan, and more

In addition, the company says it also offers family benefits such as paternity leave for new dads and adoption assistance.

Crystal Treadwell, sales account manager, said, “I chose Interactive Intelligence because the people here encourage professional growth and truly embrace a team environment with the common goal of being the best at what we do.”

Principal technology architect, Duke Snyder also said, “I like the fact that Interactive Intelligence has maintained a flat organizational structure and you don’t have to select a management path in order to move up or be recognized.”

The Indiana Chamber’s Best Places to Work nominees were determined through employer reports and comprehensive employee surveys, with winners selected in two categories: small to medium-sized companies of between 25 and 249 employees, and large-sized companies of 250 or more employees.
