AVSystem TR-069 ACS Server Offers Interoperability with Host of Devices

By Steve Anderson, Contributing TMCnet Writer

AVSystem recently brought out an impressive new entry in both the unified device management and IP phone provisioning sectors, the TR-069 ACS (News - Alert), or Auto-Configuration Server. The TR-069 ACS looks to bring an impressive array of benefits along with its release, as well as the ability to work with a wide variety of other devices, making it an excellent fit with many current setups.

AVSystem's TR-069 offers interoperability with a host of devices, including those of Cisco (News - Alert), Grandstream, Avaya (News - Alert), and plenty more from there, as determined via years AVSystem has spent performing interoperability tests to ensure the best fit. The TR-069 offers not only built in unified device management systems, but it can also work with different protocols as well to ensure the best possible value for the user. Indeed, many systems have already decided to actively integrate the TR-069 Library into their own systems, which is said to be the fastest solution on hand.

The TR-069 can also bring a wide set of extra features in on the action, including the ability to back up and restore configuration styles, synchronizing phone books, and a set of advanced monitoring features and diagnostics, even including a call quality monitoring feature.

All these features, and a few more besides, together in one place provides a lot of added value for the enterprise users that decide to bring them on board, including a pronounced drop in operational costs as a result of reduced need for IT staff to get involved. The device has automatic configuration, after all, and that means both fewer support calls and, when there are calls in the first place, they're shorter overall. Plus, using the TR-069 can improve both network efficiency and traffic balance with its advanced monitoring functions.

There's a lot to like in the TR-069, and those businesses that incorporate it into their operations will likely find it to be a valuable addition to their communications lineup. Some are already using the TR-069, including Mongolia's largest IPTV (News - Alert) provider, Univision. While the TR-069 may not be equally useful for every business, it's certainly going to offer up enough valuable features and functions to make it worth considering.
