Grandstream's IP Multimedia Phones Interoperable with Sonetel PBX Service

Grandstream Networks (News - Alert), provider of IP multimedia phones and video surveillance solutions, announced a partnership with Sonetel, provider of free global PBX (News - Alert) services for businesses, to offer a range of Grandstream HD IP multimedia phones to small to medium-sized businesses (SMBs) to connect with Sonetel’s Phone (News - Alert) System.


The companies conducted extensive interoperability testing of Grandstream Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) phones with Sonetel’s PBX service. Testing with Grandstream distributor MigraX AB has ensured compatibility and completion of quality voice and video calls with Sonetel’s scalable, free, global PBX service.

Products that tested interoperability included Grandstream Networks’ GXP21xx series enterprise high-definition (HD) IP phones and GXV IP multimedia phones.

 “Many businesses today rely on the mobile phone as its key communication tool, but many people prefer to use a high quality desktop phone when they are at the office,” said Henrik Thomé, CEO of Sonetel, in a statement. “We have selected Grandstream as a global partner because of their high quality voice and video at very competitive prices. This is ideal for our customers who generally are small businesses with limited resources.”

The free cloud-based PBX from Sonetel provides a cost-effective communications options. Companies can activate the service in minutes and connect to any VoIP service of the customer’s choice for free.

Additionally, the service includes optional add-on services such as voice response services, phone numbers and worldwide calling to mobile phones and landlines. 

Recently, Grandstream Networks announced the launch of two GXP lines of Enterprise HD IP multimedia phones. Both the new GXP1400 and the GXP1405 are built to deliver HD audio and comprehensive functionality to the market.
