IP Multimedia Phone: Protect Your Business in Any Weather with Grandstream Surveillance Camera

By Janice McDuffee, TMC Copy Editor

Companies can set surveillance anxieties aside with the debut of Grandstream Networks’s high-definition IP Camera, the GXV3662_HD. Weather-proof, vandal-resistant and tampering-proof, this camera is ready for the most challenging outdoor surveillance applications, according to a release from the IP multimedia manufacturer.

Already experienced in providing voice/video telephony and video surveillance products, Grandstream’s new camera boasts bi-directional SIP/VoIP audio and video streaming to mobile and video phones with international capacity. The built-in high performance streaming server allows over 10 viewers to watch the video simultaneously.

“We are very excited to announce the GXV3662_HD outdoor, high definition IP surveillance camera packed with features, great performance at a highly competitive price,” said David Li (News - Alert), CEO of Grandstream Networks.

HTTP API support is provided with the camera for “easy integration with various video management systems,” the company said. Consumers can also find support for ONVIF and the company’s own GSURF—Grandstream’s free video management software that can manage 36 cameras operating concurrently.

The camera is equipped with input and output for alarm and audio and is already integrated with Power-over-Ethernet (802.3af). The manufacturers didn’t forget the standard day/night options—even including the additional features of a light sensor and mechanical IR_CUT.

The GXV3662_HD shoots with a 1/3 inch, 1.2 megapixel CMOS sensor with a wide dynamic range and what the company assures is a high quality lens. Consumers can expect a multi-streaming rate in real time H.264, with motion JPEG at up to HD 720p resolutions.

The camera comes with some intense casing—IP66 compliant, vandal-resistant, weatherproof, tamper-proof, and comes with three optional mounting kits.

A heater and fan are also built into the camera, as well as SDHC interface for local storage and support for the ONVIF standard.

“This new camera is a major and logical extension of our innovative IP camera portfolio that offers compelling differentiated value for surveillance applications. Grandstream will continue to drive product innovation in response to market demand for converged IP communications and security surveillance,” added Li.

The company also mentioned that several of its other products are compatible with the camera, including its IP multimedia phones GXV3410 and GXV3175, adding further that its entire family of IP video cameras are fully compatible with its GXE IP PBX (News - Alert) in addition to other SIP-based IP PBX’s and service provider networks.

Interested consumers can find the camera through any of the company’s international distribution channels for $499.
