IP Media Server RadiSys Announces New Board Member

RadiSys, a provider of innovative hardware and software platforms for next generation IP-based wireless, wireline and video networks, today announced the appointment of David Nierenberg to its board of directors, which will go into effect March 16.


RadiSys products offerings include ATCA and IP Media Server platforms, as well as application software that have been designed for new IP-based communications services. RadiSys products can be implemented in a wide variety of applications including 3G/4G/LTE wireless voice, data and video, Femtocell (News - Alert), VoIP and Video over IP communications and conferencing, Voice Quality Enhancement (VQE), and secure defense communications.

Nierenberg has a great amount of experience in corporate strategy, corporate governance, management consulting and venture capital and public company investing, and is currently the president of Nierenberg Investment Management Company, which has been a long-term shareholder of RadiSys.

Nierenberg also currently serves on the board of directors of Electro Scientific Industries (News - Alert) along with other private companies. Previously, Nierenberg worked at venture capital firms Trinity Ventures and G.E. Venture Capital.

Scott Grout, RadiSys (News - Alert) president and CEO stated, "I am very pleased that David has agreed to serve as a member of our Board of Directors. As our largest shareholder over the past six plus years, David has provided valuable insight in a number of strategic areas, and we are excited to now bring him on as part of the Board. David brings experience in business strategy, capital markets and M&A and is an active member of other public and private companies.”
