Interwise Inc., provider of conferencing solutions announced today that its Interwise ECP Connect platform has allowed Mesto Corporation, a technology developer specializing in various machinery systems and industries, to realize more than EUR 3.5 million in savings annually.
Before utilizing Interwise ECP, Metso Corporation, a EURO 3.98 billion engineering and technology company serving customers in the pulp and paper industry, rock and minerals processing, and energy industry, sought an IP based conferencing solution that would help improve its operations and customer services.
Since its implementation of Interwise ECP Connect-- which offers an unlimited fixed price, integrated conferencing solution including IP-based voice, web and video conferencing options-- Metso has realized advantageous changes both internally and externally in their business activities. In the first year alone, they were able to eliminate EUR 500,000 in conference calling and EUR 3 million in travel expenses.
Because Interwise ECP allows for virtual conferencing as well as unlimited voice conferencing, better quality communications between the sales and engineering departments have occurred and in turn created more efficient and profitable results. With this implementation, it is no longer necessary for Metso employees to travel to business meetings or make expensive conference calls across the globe. Because this allows for more frequent communication, Metso has also noticed an increase in project development, sales and product delivery.
“We made a strategic decision to standardize our conferencing capabilities on Interwise’s ECP Connect platform,” said Jaakko Puurula, manager of conferencing services for Metso. “Interwise makes it economically and technically feasible to make conferencing available to everyone in the company, rather than just a few select groups.”
With this platform, Metso has been able to extend their customer reach to a global level and are now able to offer better quality support and service for customers regardless of their global location.
“Metso has demonstrated cost savings and business efficiency improvements that can be achieved by deploying an integrated voice, web and video conferencing solution. Global companies such as Metso are using our integrated solution to unify teams dispersed in many countries, align and improve their services to customers and accelerate their time to market,” said Tony Gasson, vice president EMEA, Interwise.
