Many of us are familiar with the public service announcements that used to end with the slogan, “The more you know,” the star would shoot across the screen and we process the life lesson we were just witness to. Education is important; today more than ever, with enterprise innovation taking place at a back-breaking pace - many don’t realize the role technology can play in business communications as well as organizations, its employees and life as a whole.

To address this issue, Digium (News - Alert) has announced the release of UC Chat a Web-based series that takes the team member from startup to SMB and illustrates the influence of technology on business. It covers topics playfully but in an educational manner and discusses subjects like Unified Communications (News - Alert) (UC), BYOD, cloud, wearables, business apps and that’s just the tip of the iceberg.

"The role technology plays in business today is unprecedented. It impacts daily management and budget decisions, and shapes long-term growth strategies. We wanted to talk about these issues, but from a vendor-neutral perspective," said Leslie Conway (News - Alert), vice president of global marketing for Digium. "Producing the UC Tech Chat show gave us the opportunity to discuss innovative technologies and business communications trends, while also educating the viewers in a fun, creative manner."

Episodes can be found on YouTube (News - Alert), with the pilot airing on January 15 it is not too late to catch up. The pilot explored mobility in the workplace, with an entertaining look back at the history of mobility. No longer are UC solutions and the like only for those not in the office. Telecommuters and the remote workforce leverage these innovations on a daily basis, there is no reason why those physically in the office can’t enjoy the increased mobility, productivity and efficiency while sitting at their desk.

Episodes will be released biweekly, and are co-hosted by Brian Ferguson, product marketing manager for Digium, and Jason Mefford, inside sales manager for Digium. Episodes can be found here, see for yourself—remember, “The more you know.”
