Enterprises intending to migrate their company’s communications infrastructure to the cloud now have a new option available on the market. Zultys (News - Alert), a provider of unified communications (UC) solutions, has announced the release of MX 9.0, a UC platform featuring a new cloud-based IP-phone system, MXvirtual.

With the rollout of this new cloud-based telephony component with MX 9.0, Zultys said, the company’s channel partners and customers will now have access to a flexible system architecture that allows pure cloud, pure premise deployment, or any combination of the two options.

Zultys MXvirtual cloud-based solution is now available to customers alongside the premise-based MX250 and MX30 IP phone systems.

Steve Francis, chief sales and marketing officer for Zultys, said in a statement, “The most important aspect of Release 9.0 is that whether deployed in the cloud or at the user’s premise, the experience is identical from both an administrator and a user’s stand point.”

Indeed, customers can combine cloud and premise-based systems, seamlessly, to experience an all-in-one phone system as well as UC architecture in the cloud.

This multi-functional solution is also designed to deliver an enterprise grade contact center solution, mobile integration, instant messaging & presence, HD video, advanced call routing, fax server, interactive voice response and much more.

As a VMware Technology Alliance Partner, Zultys has successfully obtained the VMware Ready approval for the new MXvirtual. This VMware ready virtual appliance is thus also available on a rental basis, apart from the usual outright purchase option. With the rental pricing model, Zultys’ channel partners will be able to offer customers a flexible monthly OPEX solution for their voice and UC requirements.

MX Release 9.0 also features a new Microsoft (News - Alert) Exchange Communicator. This component enables Zultys MX phone systems to integrate via Exchange Web Services with Microsoft Exchange Online, Exchange 2010 and Exchange 2013.

With the help of the new MXIE Unified Communication client management feature, meanwhile, system administrators can manage settings and call handling rules for all users on the MX system. In addition, system administrators can even disable the ability to change application settings altogether for less tech-savvy users.
