As advancements and improvements to IP communications continue, there are more ways to utilize and take advantage of communicating via the Internet. IP-based storage networks are one technology that have promise to expand the boundaries of traditional data storage. Cloud data backup offers many technical, economic and security benefits, including improved data protection, ease of use, fast implementation and low costs.

AT&T (News - Alert) has recently unveiled AT&T Locker, a free and easy-to-use photo and video sharing service for AT&T customers to store, sync and share photos, videos and documents in one safe and convenient place. Users can upload images and video to secure online storage and quickly share on Facebook, MySpace, Twitter (News - Alert) or e-mail.

With AT&T Locker, users can create and customize albums for photos and video on the device or online from a laptop or home computer. Customers can also store music and other files in their AT&T Locker storage. The app is available for AT&T Android (News - Alert) and iPhone smartphones, compatible all the way back to the iPhone 3GS.

“Customers use smartphones to capture special moments in their lives. That’s why we designed AT&T Locker to help you store those memories,” said Mark Collins (News - Alert), senior vice president, Data and Voice Products, AT&T Mobility, in a statement. “With Easy Upload, every photo and video is uploaded directly to AT&T’s cloud, which can be accessed safely and securely anytime from a customer’s smartphone or the Web.”

Users can make sure they never lose a photo again with Easy Upload feature, which allows you to automatically upload the photos on your device to the AT&T Cloud. With AT&T Locker, users can choose to upload new photos and video via Wi-Fi. Customers can manage those photos and share them through the app on the smartphone or on the AT&T Locker web page. AT&T plans to incorporate additional features in future versions of AT&T Locker.

The first 5GB of storage is free with upgrades to 30GB for just $3.99/month or 100GB for just $9.99/month. If your phone is lost or stolen, you can still access your AT&T Locker from a desktop computer at https://locker.att.net.

AT&T also offers wireless coverage worldwide, offering the most wireless phones that work in the most countries. It also offers advanced TV services under the AT&T U-verse and AT&T |DIRECTV brands. The company’s suite of IP-based business communications services is one of the most advanced in the world.
