NCP engineering, a company that delivers software that allows enterprises to rethink their remote access, has unveiled the latest version of its centrally managed enterprise IPsec VPN client suite. The new version, which is compatible with Linux operating systems, comes with VPN tunneling capabilities, a centrally managed firewall and a dialer.

The new version has a number of advanced features including NCP's Path Finder technology and Friendly Net Detection along with a multi-certificate and 64-bit support that will enable organizations to ensure flexible yet safe remote access.

NCP's centrally managed IPsec VPN client suite is compatible with the following 32- and 64-bit Linux versions: Ubuntu (News - Alert) Desktop 10.04.3 LTS; open SUSE 11.3, 11.4 and 12.1; Fedora 16; and Debian 5.0.8. Device firewalls and other suitable settings can be predetermined by network administrators using the NCP Secure Enterprise Management System, which offers a solitary point of management for the VPN client suite. End-users can also connect securely and swiftly to the IPsec VPN client suite.

End-users are often challenged with intricate connection problems due to the firewall settings, which prevent IPsec communications. End-users can now comply with enterprises' security policie, by setting up a secure connection with the Path Finder technology facilitated by the NCP Secure Enterprise Linux Client in collaboration with the NCP Secure Enterprise Server.

The end user's device will be aided by NCP engineering’s Friendly Net Detection to compel self-identification of the network. Depending on the network type, Friendly Net Detection automatically triggers the essential firewall rules and security machinery. The complete connection set-up process is sheltered by the incorporated personal firewall, even in Wi-Fi networks and public hotspots. Ports for HTTP or HTTPS are also released on a need-basis for signing in and signing off.

Users can use several VPNs and share a pool notebook safely with the numerous certificate support offered by the IPsec VPN client. The administrator should however include the numerous certificate settings while configuring the client. The setup and encryption of IPsec connections utilizes FIPS inside, which has been incorporated by NCP’s software.
