Sangoma Technologies (News - Alert) Corporation, a provider of hardware and software components that enable or enhance IP communications systems for both voice and data, announced that with the release of Elastix (News - Alert) 2.2, all Sangoma Time Division Multiplexing (TDM) interface boards (analog, digital and BRI) are now automatically detected and configured through Elastix's hardware detector interface tool.
Elastix is one of the leading distributions of Asterisk (News - Alert) and was designed to enable unified communications and Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) systems within an Open Source solution. PaloSanto Solutions, the company that develops Elastix, recently released Elastix 2.2 with a number of enhancements including improved interface and additional functionalities.
The new functionalities include Elastix Web Services Module, MarketPlace Module, Statistics Module, Advanced Security Settings Module, CentOS and kernel upgrades, Asterisk 1.8.7.0 update, Security bug fix, Definition of the AMI and ARI credentials in Elastix's firstboot process, Support for the Operator Panel in Internet Explorer 6,7,8,9 and Firefox 5.6, Minor graphic and language bug fixes, among others.
"It is very important for Elastix to have developed a simple and intuitive detection of Sangoma hardware," said Edgar Landivar, CEO of PaloSanto Solutions, in a statement. "This was something that the community had been demanding for a while and makes Elastix and Sangoma a solid combination."
The Web interface also allows the configuration of different parameters, such as echo cancellation, the mode on PRI cards (E1 or T1), timing source, line build out, framing, and coding, company officials said.
Sangoma also announced the beta release of the W400 Board, their GSM capable telephony interface board. W400 Board allows IP-PBXs built with Asterisk to communicate with the GSM cellular network. The board will enable an IP-PBX (News - Alert) to place calls even when no PTSN or Internet connection is available.
Additionally, the W400 also allows an IP-PBX to gain access to certain GSM data functions, such as sending or receiving an SMS message that can enhance the overall functionality of the IP-PBX, company officials said.
W400 supports up to four simultaneous quad-band EGSM sessions enabling maximum compatibility worldwide. Other supporting features include onboard hardware echo cancellation, noise suppression and DTMF detection. The W400 comes in a PCIe configuration and carries a 5-year warranty.
Recently Sangoma announced it has been included in Deloitte’s (News - Alert) Technology Fast 500 list for 2011.
The yearly list ranks the fastest growing technology, media, telecommunications, life sciences and clean technology companies in North America based on their percentage of fiscal year revenue growth during 2006 to 2010. Sangoma Technologies experienced 162 percent growth during this period.
