Internet telephone solutions vendor Star2Star Communications has shipped more than 12,000 units of its flagship StarBox IP PBX (News - Alert) in the past 12 months, a number that represents 20 percent more than the company had anticipated.
The Sarasota, Fla.,-based company attributes the sudden surge in shipments to its channel partner program. Channel Partner (News - Alert) readers selected from hundreds of other companies, including carriers, resellers, master agencies, and other telephony products vendors.
Star2Star’s President Joe Rhem stated that his company had previously set a goal of shipping 10,000 units, but in the end it managed to sell 12,000 units.
"We beat that number by 20%, thanks in large part to our active and vibrant channel partner program," he said.
The IP PBX replaces the traditional $30,000 box at a fraction of the traditional cost, and helps save the telephone cost significantly.
In other words, IP PBX offers consumers the chance to save around 50 percent on their monthly telephone expenses, more than enough to offset the financing cost for the phone system.
"Our unique Blended Architecture approach to VoIP provides a superior experience for our customers while saving them 50% or more on their communications costs," said the firm.
The company, which was recently added to the list of America's fastest-growing private companies, offers cloud-based applications.
Star2Star posted sales of $10.8 million for 2010, representing a three-year growth rate of 1555.9 percent, and it currently serves nearly 200,000 users.
