Broadview Networks (News - Alert), a network-based communications and cloud services provider, announced major enhancements to cloud-based OfficeSuite hosted IP phone service.

OfficeSuite is Broadview Networks' flagship cloud-based phone solution featuring a complete cloud-based hosted phone system, including phones, more than 40 calling features, an intuitive and simple-to-use Web portal to manage the service, and a robust calling plan shared by all users at a site.

With the latest update, OfficeSuite has become more user-friendly and provides more ubiquitous access via mobile and Web applications. It now comes with a new set of options and features that let companies realize faster the benefits of the system while lowering their total cost of ownership, company officials said.

A major upgrade to OfficeSuite is Automatic Failover Protection Service, which adds greater level of security and reliability for customers. This failover option automatically routes calls to an Internet connection, enabling OfficeSuite customers to enjoy seamless voice service and an unparalleled level of redundancy even in the event of a disruption to a primary access line.

OfficeSuite is also enhanced with Voicemail Enhancements including Voicemail Portal Upgrades, OfficeSuite Voicemail, Voicemail Distribution Groups and Store & Record Multiple Outgoing Greetings.

Another major upgrade to OfficeSuite is the Mobile Clients for iPhone and Android (News - Alert) Phones. These apps for the Apple iPhone and Android-based smartphones now make it easier than ever for users to access their OfficeSuite messages from anywhere. The OfficeSuite voicemail apps are available from Apple's (News - Alert) iTunes App Store for the iPhone and from Amazon.com for the Android devices.

Additionally OfficeSuite now comes with a Softphone, a downloadable PC-based phone client that is completely integrated with Broadview Networks' cloud-based phone solution. The softphone allows users to take advantage of seamless communications from anywhere on the road while enjoying the full office phone functionality.

"Whether it's enabling a better interactive experience with easier navigation and visuals in the online voicemail portal, more flexible storage, mobile apps for business users on the go, to ensuring robust and redundant connections, and seamless communications from any Internet connection anywhere, Broadview Networks continues to advance the state of the art for IP communications for its customers," said Jeff Blackey, Broadview's senior vice president of marketing, in a statement.

Businesses can easily add Broadview's FrontLine Multi-Protocol Label Switching (MPLS) service to securely connect locations in a fully meshed and QoS-enabled data network.

Recently Broadview Networks announced it has won the 2011 IP Contact Center Technology Pioneer Award for its OfficeSuite Automatic Call Distribution (ACD) and Recording solution.
