HP has launched HP OpenCall Mobile Video Solutions, a new mobile software solutions developed to make interactions with family, friends, and social communities livelier by using personalized video messages.
Offering three different mobile video solutions that can easily be deployed in 3G
networks, OpenCall allows users to send and receive video messages similar to ordinary voice messages, empowers video blogging, makes animated call response messages, and provides numerous video services.
In a press release, HP Software Worldwide OpenCall Marketing director Steven Dietch said, “Video allows people to communicate with each other — and in social groups — in a more personal, interactive way. With OpenCall Mobile Video Solutions, HP is enabling that enriched, personal experience even while people are on the move. By providing customers a more appealing experience, operators can enjoy a better business outcome: new revenues and less turnover.”
On the side of mobile operators, this new mobile software enables them to enhance mobile experience, foster customer loyalty, minimize costs, and generate more revenues.
“Mobile video is growing in importance, as more people are watching, recording and sharing video in group-based environments. Service providers see mobile video as a catalyst that can trigger adoption of 3G services.” He added, “HP understands both telephony networks and end-user behavior, and is well-positioned to be a significant player in mobile video,” added Ovum service infrastructure practice leader said Jean-Charles Doineau, in a press release.
In a study by Wainhouse Research, titled “Personal Mobile Video Communications at the Launchpad,” personal mobile video users are expected to reach 76 to 150 million by 2010, a lucrative opportunity for mobile operators.
The new mobile software solutions include HP OpenCall Video Messaging for personalized voice mailboxes, HP OpenCall MMS Call Completion for adding animation or videos on voice messages and HP OpenCall Video Blog for user generated contents like video blogging and community portals.
