Change is not always easy, with associated challenges as a result. The cloud era is at hand. Our SaaSy, bandwidth hungry working world is driving change in the WAN. Whether SD-WAN or Hybrid WAN, visibility into the network is critical to ensure performance is as expected.

This week, ThousandEyes announced a partnership with Juniper Networks (News - Alert) to offer insight into application delivery and network performance via Juniper Networks Cloud Customer Premises Equipment. When paired with the ThousandEyes VNF offering, network operators can take advantage of exceptional network visibility.

“As more and more of our customers move to cloud-centric networks to realize its cost and agility promises, the migration – often to a hybrid public/private environment – can also bring new network blind spots that, if left unchecked, can wreak havoc on service delivery, application development, SLAs and the overall end-user experience,” explained Mihir Maniar, vice president, product management, Juniper Networks.

IT teams in the age of digital transformation seek network awareness. ThousandEyes utilizes a network of vantage points to offer insight, but the Juniper partnership elevates this a bit. With the Juniper Networks Cloud CPE in place, users can see “hop-by-hop” performance data into branch or data center network issues.

“IT and networks are increasingly critical to business success as organizations embrace and leverage digital technologies. To keep pace with evolving business demands and maintain high levels of application delivery performance, these enterprises need agile and robust network architectures and enhanced visibility to troubleshoot complex issues and plan effectively,” noted Ashwin Kedia, vice president, business development, ThousandEyes.

The WAN is changing in a major way. A software-defined makeover is initiating a new era in networking.
