Business network needs can change in the blink of an eye. Digital transformation is driving a cloud-powered, on-demand society requiring efficient, flexible and secure networking solutions. Enter stage right: SD-WAN. Software-defined networking solutions are meeting this demand and then some.
This week, Japanese telco KDDI (News - Alert) announced the arrival of the KDDI SD-Network Platform, which will be available in 37 countries, released in waves starting December 5th. Simultaneously, KDDI unveiled the KDDI Security Cloud that promises more secure cloud services – currently only available to customers in Japan.
The KDDI-SD serves to support fluid business operations, as with the service in place companies gain improved visibility and flexible control over the network and route optimization. There is no need for additional physical deployments, and over time when the need to scale services arises, adjusting cloud services and like is simply a few mouse clicks away.
At the heart of the newly announced services is Versa Networks technology, enabling KDDI to adopt advanced Virtualized Network Functions (VNFs) and empower the ensuing overseas expansion in the coming months.
Kelly Ahuja, the CEO of Versa Networks, Inc., noted, “We are pleased that KDDI has selected Versa’s SD-WAN and SD-Security solutions to accelerate digital and cloud transformation for their business customers. KDDI will be deploying Versa’s Cloud IP Platform to deliver a cloud-native and policy driven network and security architecture that delivers increased visibility & control, and enables enterprises to move faster.”
KDDI is striving to bring its motto of “Designing the Future” to life. In augmenting its portfolio, and making necessary network enhancements, this Japanese telecom means business. And, is turning heads along the way. Software-defined solutions deliver upon the promises of digital transformation.
