SD-WAN is proving to be a key component of the digital transformation at hand, as it supports the cloud era and all those SaaS (News - Alert) applications we love so much. In a few short years, this market evolved from speculative to special, and with this shift came a growing focus. As a result, partner programs are growing rapidly, aiding in the explosive expansion of this nascent software-defined technology.

Talari Networks announced this week that PhillyCom earned Gold partner status in Talari’s SMART Partner Program. PhillyCom possesses a record of successful Talari deployments, and now the IT solutions provider is focused on the opportunity SD-WAN presents.

Gartner (News - Alert) projects that, between 2014 and 2018, WAN architecture will be a priority for firms with several remote locations that seek to support the adoption of cloud services. The space is expected to see 86 percent growth in that time span, primarily because when IT is looking at network performance and cost the rigid architectures of the past are unable to support modern network requirements.

PhillyCom will offer the Talari Networks SD-WAN solution, which can be delivered in the cloud, virtual or physical locations. And, payment models include monthly subscription rates, as-a-service or perpetual licensing.

In sports, picking a winner can prove impossible at times, even for the most skilled handicapper. But, when it comes to SD-WAN, I’ll say this: if I were a betting man, I know where my money would be.
