SD-WAN is surging at the moment. Over the last couple of years, this burgeoning technology space has continued its steady climb to the mainstream as a result of the growing prevalence of cloud-based solutions and the Saas-tastic nature of applications today. Couple that with the global nature of business today, which requires a flexible networking solution capable of supporting these growing demands and the result is a market on the rise, with the hype reaching fever pitch.

One of the most recent members to the SD-WAN provider club is ZTE (News - Alert) corporation, an IT and telco company that announced its elastic SD-WAN solution capable of offering enterprise users the ability to utilize full network and data center resources, with end-to-end ICT solutions.

ZTE supports customers throughout the purchase and implementation process – from connection and service purchase, launch, maintenance and even cancelling. Equipment is plug-and-play, easily configurable and users can purchase “Buy & Play” services. Cost is greatly reduced because the solution is virtualized. Also minimized is complexity, as services are easily deployed with one-key automated deployment and unified service orchestration. Time is also saved as a result, freeing up people to focus on other operational priorities.

Application service providers gain new revenue opportunities from the open cloud platform and application platform provided in the ZTE Elastic SD-WAN. Enabled with the capability to quickly engage value-added services and distribute those services to users. Some 20 application service providers across a wide spectrum of verticals are leveraging this newly formed ecosystem. And, the integrated deployment introduces IT and ICT services, with network services placed in “an organic system” per ZTE, aimed at providing a seamless and user friendly experience.

SD-WAN is no flash in the pan. Software-defined solutions are feasting on the network, driving the digital transformation at hand. The network was in need of a makeover and SD-WAN is more than capable of supporting the growing demands of today, as well as the requirements of tomorrow.
