REVE Systems Adds Auto Provisioning to Enhance User Experience

By Susan J. Campbell, TMCnet Contributing Editor

Access to voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) through a mobile device was once something blocked by every wireless carrier on the market. Today, it’s the natural extension of the business communications structure to support employees in the field. If yours is a VoIP environment, it only makes sense to offer mobile VoIP as well.

REVE Systems has made a name for itself in this space, offering clients the VoIP access they need regardless of the infrastructure they currently manage. The company recently added an auto provisioning feature to its iTel Mobile Dialer Express portfolio. With this addition, the mobile VoIP application turns the mobile number of the end user into their User ID.

To take it one step further, auto provisioning also eases the sign up process as the mobile number then becomes the user’s PIN number. Authentication for the mobile number is then completed by sending a password by way of the SMS access or an interactive voice response (IVR) call. Once authentication is completed, the user is able to automatically create a Buddy List from the phonebook by adding contacts already using the mobile VoIP application. Instant messaging is then easy to launch and use.

The CLI display for Caller ID is an important feature for the business user wanting to give the consistent professional presentation in all communications. The corporate number can appear on all completed mobile VoIP calls, creating a seamless experience regardless of location. As companies increasingly adopt the virtual office business model, this feature is important to create a bigger presence than reality may support.

For service providers leveraging REVE Systems mobile VoIP solutions and extending the offer to its users, the VoIP account is easily recharged. Thanks to the auto provisioning feature that allows the end user’s mobile number to also serve as his PIN, the need to implement a few extra steps to extend the right service level is eliminated. Service providers can also directly connect end users with mobile number registration facility.

While the addition of the auto provisioning feature is a positive move for users, it’s also positioned well for service providers offering REVE Systems white labeled solutions. The ability to brand the mobile VoIP offering is important in a highly competitive area. Extending the brand experience through greater registration, use, authentication and the IM experience also helps to increase brand stickiness and prevent customer churn.

As the demand for mobile VoIP continues to grow and the application supports the busy professional, enhanced features like auto provisioning will define leadership in the market.
