The adoption of Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) technology in the workplace has rapidly increased due in part to the lower cost and greater functionality afforded in this network-enabled platform. Can these same benefits be extended to the mobile user? Given the increase in mobility among the consumer and professional sectors, mobile VoIP is ramping up for a whole new market explosion.
REVE Systems is right at the forefront in mobile VoIP technology, offering three innovative solutions, the iTel Mobile Dialer, the Call through Dialer and the iTel Switch Plus solution. Let’s dive a little deeper into each one, examining what they are and what they have to offer to determine whether or not they make sense for your mobile users.
The iTel Mobile Dialer, found here, is a mobile application that could also be called a software-dialer. This application essentially allows the mobile user to make a VoIP call from his or her mobile device. For the reseller, this service extends mobile VoIP to anyone using a mobile phone, while also allowing for the branding of the service.
Mobile VoIP helps to streamline communication costs for those organizations supporting mobile employees, while also leveraging the benefits associated with cheaper data services. At present, the iTel mobile dialer will support Windows Mobile, Symbian (News - Alert), Android and Blackberry platforms.
REVE Systems also offers the iTel Mobile Call Through Dialer. This application is designed to eliminate the hassle associated with remembering the PIN, access number and destination number when using a calling card. A mobile VoIP application, the iTel Mobile Call Through Dialer integrates with the mobile device phonebook or address book to deliver a seamless experience when making a calling card call.
All of the details associated with the calling card are stored in the memory of the iTel Mobile Call Through Dialer upon first use, allowing for a seamless mobile VoIP experience each time a call is made from that point forward. Customers no longer need to allow for the use of a complicated system, longer connect times, the memorization of PIN or access numbers, higher call costs or the delays that arise from making a numerical entry mistake.
This application supports REVE Systems’ efforts to expand globally. TMC (News - Alert) recently reported that the Singapore-based company has successfully expanded to 70 countries. With its core customer base in Asia and the Middle East, REVE Systems also supports customers in Latin America, North America, Europe, Lebanon, South Africa and Turkey.
To address the needs of the retail VoIP platform industry, REVE Systems offers the iTel Switch Plus solution. This complete retail mobile VoIP platform is based on the company’s proprietary technology and developed completely in-house. The IP Switch is built with multi-layered security and is targeted specifically to retail VoIP service providers and large IP carriers as it can be deployed in a single server platform environment, or one complete with distributed architecture.
This practice of reselling VoIP services is on a steady growth path as mobile VoIP offers a cost-effective means to embrace the trend toward mobility while still staying connected on the go. It is advised, however, that companies truly understand the partners with which they are engaging in reselling VoIP services to ensure the architecture and service delivery match the value of their stated brands.
