“Strong subscriber and revenue growth rates” are carving out a strong position for VoIP in the US telecommunications map, according to officials of Nationwide Telecom, who add that since the entry of Comcast (News Hosted softswitch appears set to play a large part in the surge of hosted VoIP as well; a market Nationwide appears well-poised to serve. Company officials say they’re ready to build up on future prospects on hosted VoIP and increasing demand, according to TMC’s (News - Alert) Rajani Baburajan. As Baburajan writes, Nationwide Telecom has launched a number of wholesale and reseller program, managed partitioning services, and end-to-end contact center offerings. Nationwide clients can configure their own array of VoIP Technology-based services. The vendor provides servers, VoIP switch, VoIP billing software and round-the-clock service from their technical staff. It’s certainly a healthy market. Statistics cited by Nationwide officials show that in 2010, the US cable companies had a subscriber base of more than 20 million subscribers. “Non-facilities based VoIP providers,” such as Skype (News Canny VoIP network players are offering such products as SMS along with IP phone service in their packaged business products. Enterprise VoIP is new, yes, and admittedly there are a few tech kinks that need to be ironed out, but the future of hosted softswitch, among other offerings, should belong to those VoIP providers who can figure them out. Nationwide officials regard, as do most industry observers mobile VoIP, as a candidate for exponential growth “due to the increase in usage of WiFi-enabled handsets. 3G networks and the WiMAX (News - Alert) network on which the major carriers are planning to upgrade to an open access LTE platform especially for investing in 4G.” David Sims is a contributing editor for TMCnet.
