Hosted PBX refers to virtual PBX ( News - Alert) which employs cutting-edge internet technology to execute sophisticated phone system functions, with a minimal investment. Similar to traditional PBX telephone systems, it lets you to route calls to different extensions via voice mail. It also does a lot more.
With hosted PBX, customers do not require a high-speed internet connection, nor do they need any type of special hardware.
You don't need to be a VoIP expert--many hosted PBX users don't even realize they are using VoIP in the first place. They are only aware that they have a new sophisticated telephone system with great options, and that they didn't need to replace all their phones or purchase expensive hardware.
The primary benefit of using hosted PBX is flexibility. Hosted PBX is particularly beneficial to customers with an outside sales force, several locations, or work- from-home employees. Whether working at corporate office, home office, remote client site or while on the road, employees can receive faxes, email and voice mail--all in the same inbox.
When clients call the main office number, messages will still get routed to the proper location. Employees who are working from home can receive calls the same as they would be able to in the office.
Additionally, you can set up your phone to show the main office number while making outgoing calls, that way your clients do not have to call you on your cell or home phone.
