Atlanta-based technology solutions firm Corus360 has announced its PowerCloud360 offering, saying that it’s for companies running IBM (News - Alert) Power Systems and interested in having their AIX, IBM i, or Linux applications hosted to reduce IT capital expenditures and expenses.
To prevent interruption of business because of threats related to disaster, uncontrollable events, and other kind of attacks, it has become important that companies have systems and technologies in place, noted Steve Johnson (News - Alert), president at Corus360.
If there is a disaster, which causes a high availability customer to failover, the new offering from Corus360 allows switching over to additional resources that match the capabilities of the production system.
Brent Schofield, senior technical architect at Corus360, said that the PowerCloud360 solution allows organizations to focus on business by reducing the management of IT assets and resources.
The latest offering benefits from the latest IBM Power System’s virtualization capabilities as it virtualizes processor, memory, network and storage, enabling dynamic on-demand allocations of resources.
Additionally, the PowerCloud360 solution provides the advantage of a secure and resilient solution to failover critical applications, according to company officials. Likewise, the addition of temporary additional resources is now possible for production customers during peak month-end or year-end processes.
The company said that multiple organizations are running their production, high availability, and archive systems on the PowerCloud360, including financial institutions, transportation and logistics, distribution, manufacturing and services industries with a strong focus on the IBM i operating system.
IBM i runs on an IBM Power Systems server, offering a highly scalable and virus resistant architecture. According to IBM, it integrates a “trusted combination” of relational database, security, Web services, networking and storage management capabilities.
Corus360 offers infrastructure solutions, recovery, and consulting services that help organizations reduce costs, increase efficiency, and maximize productivity.
Last year in December, Corus360 announced its strategic partnership with ACS (News - Alert) MediHealth, a healthcare technology solutions provider, to bring innovative solutions that fulfill healthcare information technology needs as well as Disaster Recovery planning and business continuity.
