TouchStar (News - Alert), a developer and provider of call center applications with on-site and hosted deployment options, recently announced that it acquired FacetCorp. The deal was struck in order to acquire FacetPhone, which is a phone software system that has been designed to reduce costs of operation while raising productivity.

"FacetPhone is a great addition to TouchStar's product line because it offers advanced features such as presence, instant messenger, real time graphical reports, and click to call integrations,” stated Lauren LaFortuna, TouchStar's PBX (News - Alert) product manager.

“During the due diligence process, we were thrilled to speak with FacetPhone customers who raved about the reliability and functionality," LaFortuna added.

The Facetphone software recently acquired by TouchStar has been outfitted to enable companies and other enterprises to lower their costs when it comes to upgrades, maintenance and system purchases. The application will also help businesses achieve considerable savings. This will be implemented by cutting down on long distance costs by using VoIP.

"We are excited about adding a strong team of phone system experts, and a great product, to TouchStar. As demand for TouchStar's IP (internet protocol) PBX product increased in the last year, we identified a need to expand our team to handle our new PBX sales and support requirements," commented Rick Morris, TouchStar's chief operating officer.

The Facetphone software will also help networks to simplify services related to voice and data and will work to reduce the overall travel costs by using remote workers and getting rid of custom system implementations. This will help the company to secure a conference bridge and remove costs for moves, additions, and alterations.

The FacetPhone software utilizes a Linux OS and runs on a Dell (News - Alert) server. The software has been designed to be scalable, reliable and economical in terms of cost.

"By joining a larger company with a global reach, we immediately gain additional resources to: accelerate development, improve support services, and expand through a global distribution channel. Our ability to be a leader in the business phone system market just exponentially increased," remarked Jim Bryant, president of FacetCorp (News - Alert).
