accells Provides Identity to Every Digital Device through BringYourOwnID.com

accells technologies, a provider of mobile ID and smart authentication services, has launched BringYourOwnID.com, a demo site that authenticates the identity of any digital service.  The service finds application in a range of scenarios ranging from verifying posts to sharing links and connecting social media account to capturing sensitive user data like the 3-digit secure code of a credit card.

“With BringYourOwnID, we are showcasing how smart authentication must work today,” said Eckhard Ortwein, CEO accells, in a statement. “We deliver a usability which people love at much smarter security and much lower cost.”

The revolutionary mobile ID technology drives the BYOD trend in organizations. For customers it provides smart notification and authentication, peace-of-mind in logging-in to a service, changing sensitive data and verifying transactions, Ortwein added.

According to accells technologies, the digital world has undergone a lot of transformation over the last two decades; however authentication needs have been limited to access scenarios using username/passwords and VPN access scenarios using token/One-Time-Password (OTP)-based solutions designed 20 years ago for use in an offline world.

Lack of proper authentication technologies affects almost all industries especially the finance, gaming, telco, healthcare, and social media businesses. Businesses are prone to financial frauds and identity breaches. With more smart devices entering the Internet world every day, online threats are growing at an unprecedented level.

Through the new mobile app Accells now enables users to use their smartphone as a mobile ID for smart authentication to any cloud, Web, VPN, or mobile service across any channel - online, mobile, call center, or at the POS.

The service is currently available for iPhone or Android (News - Alert) users. The company has plans to launch the Blackberry and Windows version soon.
