LifeSize (News - Alert) Communications, a provider of HD video conferencing solutions, has announced the appointment of Colin Buechler as senior vice president of marketing.

 

Colin joins LifeSize after five years as a vice president at Dell (News - Alert). At LifeSize, he will be reporting to Craig Malloy, CEO of the company.

 

Announcing the appointment of Buechler, Malloy said that Colin Buechler joins his company’s team at the most exciting time in the industry's history.

 

He also added in a press statement that the world is eager to adopt telepresence solutions and “Colin knows how to bring customers and new technology together.”

 

Noting that the LifeSize message of price and performance leadership is resonating in the market and driving a revolution in telepresence that is accessible to everyone, Buechler added that his job is to “ensure that we continue to build solutions that deliver on the promise of video communications to everyone.”

 

As vice president of business unit at Dell, Buechler responsibilities included product and service positioning, pricing, inbound customer needs aggregation, outbound programs, demand generation and online across the full line of products and services.

 

Prior to joining Dell, Colin has also worked in venture capital at eVolution Global Partners, and strategy consulting in the technology industry with Bain & Company, A.T. Kearney and Andersen Consulting.

 

Founded in 2003 by industry veterans, LifeSize claims to be the first company to develop and deliver high definition video communications products.

 

According to company officials, LifeSize is gaining market share within existing markets and expanding the market for video communications in new markets, such as global small and medium businesses (SMB).
