Lantronix (News - Alert), Inc., a global provider of smart M2M (machine-to-machine) connectivity solutions, has launched its new xPrintServer - Cloud Print Edition mobile printing device.
Roughly the size of a smartphone, the xPrintServer - Cloud Print Edition enables a user's supported printers to print using cloud print technology from Android OS mobile devices, as well as any device running Google (News - Alert)'s Chrome browser and Chrome operating system (ChromeOS).
An easy-to-use hardware solution for cloud printing that requires no additional software downloads or printer driver installations, the xPrintServer - Cloud Print Edition, is the latest edition to Lantronix xPrintServer family of products, joining the xPrintServer - Home Edition and xPrintServer - Office Edition, which enable native mobile printing from iOS devices such as the iPad and iPhone (News - Alert).
Officials with Lantronix claimed that the xPrintServer - Cloud Print Edition is the first and only print server certified by Google to support cloud print technology.
"Mobile printing is an exciting, burgeoning new market driven by the proliferation of mobile devices and BYOD," said Morgan J. Moran, president for Kheelan Business Technologies -- a global provider of integrated network infrastructure, computing devices and software applications for business owners and IT professionals, in a statement.
Moran said that the company’s customers demand robust, best in class solutions like Lantronix's award-winning xPrintServer. With their introduction of a new Cloud Print edition, Lantronix has once again demonstrated its leadership in the mobile printing market.
Kurt Busch, president and CEO, Lantronix said that with millions of businesses adopting smart devices in the workplace, more and more are seeking easy to adopt printing solutions that allow them to cost-effectively leverage their existing networked printers.
"The launch of our new xPrintServer - Cloud Print Edition rounds out our xPrintServer family by addressing more than half of the multi-billion dollar mobile printing market,” said Busch.
Busch said that in addition to providing users of Android (News - Alert) and Chrome-based devices with the ability to print to any supported printer from any device -- the new xPrintServer allows users to print to their printer from anywhere in the world using cloud print technology.
“It also works seamlessly with Google's increasingly popular portfolio of business productivity tools and services such as Google Apps and Google Docs," said Busch.
