Canon recently announced their PIXMA MG8220 and MG6220 Wireless Photo All-In-One (AIO) inkjet photo printers now include support for the Google (News - Alert) Cloud Print service.
Google Cloud Print is a service that lets users access their printers via any Google Cloud Print enabled web or mobile app.
The Google Cloud Print service can be accessed by anyone registered with Google, and lets them review print jobs and printer status online, apart from accessing printers from any computer or smart phone.
Users can only print from Gmail and Google Doc on a mobile device and from the Google Chrome browser for Mac, Windows, Linux and Chrome devices. The service also shares home and work printers between separate users.
According to Canon (News - Alert), the PIXMA MG8220 and MG6220 Wireless Photo All-In-One (AIO) inkjet photo printers are not the only printers that support the Google Cloud Print. The impending PIXMA MX892 Wireless Office AIO inkjet printer, scheduled to debut in May, will also support the cloud.
“In today’s world, we understand that consumers are always interested in additional connectivity options to print their important photos and documents,” said Yuichi Ishizuka, executive vice president and general manager, Imaging Technologies & Communications Group, Canon U.S.A. “We are more than happy to be able to deliver this new feature to our users today.”
The PIXMA MG8220 and MG6220 have an estimated price of $299 and $199, respectively. More on Google Cloud Print and the compatible PIXMA printers at http://www.usa.canon.com/cloudprint.
