FoIP Company etherFAX Hires New Director of Sales to Manage Channel Initiatives

By Laura Stotler, TMCnet Contributing Editor

Fax server solutions have slowly been making their way to the cloud, and FoIP company etherFAX, LLC is a prime example of this. The company has announced that Quinn Corey has joined as the new Director of Sales serving the Americas, with an emphasis on managing the company's channel sales initiatives.

etherFAX offers a unique solution to extend fax server offerings to the cloud, eliminating the need for expensive hardware like fax boards as well as recurring telephony fees. The Internet is used to manage all business-critical fax communications.

etherFAX aggregates virtual ports and offers an IaaS platform that enables customers to use their existing fax server solutions to send and receive faxes. By using the cloud to terminate inbound and outbound faxes, images, transmissions and other information are transparent to etherFAX and are stored on customers' servers, within their firewalls.

The company says their service is not exactly FoIP, but rather a proprietary, real-time encrypted communication transport between a customer's fax server and the etherFAX data center. This ensures 100 percent reliable communications without some of the issues that SIP, T.38, G.711 and FoIP face.

etherFAX services are web-enabled and are designed to operate in any environment using minimal network bandwidth. The company's data center is hosted in a premium Equinix (News - Alert) center outside of New York City. It offers operational expertise, physical security and a high-performance network ecosystem.

The new Director of Sales is not a stranger to FoIP, having previously served as Channel Manager of the Americas for Dialogic (News - Alert) Inc. Dialogic is a major developer of open system based telephony, voice, fax, video and signaling products geared toward the enterprise and service provider markets. Corey was responsible for a number of major accounts at Dialogic, including the Open Text relationship.

At Dialogic since 2007, Corey previously worked with Cantata prior to its acquisition by Dialogic. Prior to that he managed business development of the unified communications market for collaboration application specialist VIACK. He has more than 10 years of experience in the UC/UM and fax markets and holds a BA degree in marketing and public administration from the University of Arizona.

"Quinn brings to etherFAX a wealth of experience in fax, OCS and unified communications," said Paul Banco, CEO of etherFAX. "Through his established relationships with key channel partners in the fax server industry, we look forward to expanding our channel sales initiatives and broadening the reach of the etherFAX platform."
