Patton has announced that its SmartNode 4638 Multiport BRI So Gateway (News - Alert) Router has received the “2009 INTERNET TELEPHONY Excellence Award” from TMC’s INTERNET TELEPHONY magazine.
This the seventh major SmartNode award in the past five years for Patton (News - Alert), a Gaithersburg, Md.-based provider of business and carrier-class VoIP, network access, connectivity and video-surveillance equipment.
Cablecom, a Swiss triple-play and cable-network service provider, has leveraged SmartNode 4638 as customer premise equipment to expand its subscriber base by offering a new business-class VoIP-and-data service for small to medium enterprises (SMEs).
“As a business service provider, we require innovative technology with the highest level of reliability,” said Sascha Jooss, Cablecom’s voice product manager. “SmartNode hits both targets.”
The CPE is a major cost determinant in the rollout of a VoIP service. Cablecom reportedly chose SmartNode 4638 not only for its outstanding price performance but also for its long-term stability and field-proven interoperability in a single compact, standalone unit.
SmartNode bundles up classic ISDN interfaces and protocols with advanced VoIP technologies, providing Cablecom’s business customers with full investment protection for existing ISDN telephony systems and the benefits of next-generation IP-based communications.
“Year after year, SmartNode makes valuable contributions to IP communications, delivering great VoIP solutions to clients worldwide,” said Rich Tehrani, CEO, TMC (News - Alert).
“We are truly honored to accept this prestigious award,” said Bobby Patton, President. “It highlights our long-standing track record.”
TELEPHONY Excellence Award winners are published in the October 2009 issue of INTERNET TELEPHONY magazine, www.itmag.com.
“We are very pleased to present our 2009 INTERNET TELEPHONY Excellence Award to Patton for providing advanced IP communications solutions,” said Erik Linask (News - Alert), group editorial director of INTERNET TELEPHONY.
