Patton Electronics at Forefront of Ethernet Extender Technology

While many industry insiders are well aware of what an Ethernet Extender does, and what the benefits can provide, many of those who might need it most have yet to learn of its numerous advantages.

For the neophyte: An Ethernet Extender is any device used to extend an Ethernet segment beyond its normal distance limitation. Often, these devices are used to employ transmission technologies and physical media including copper wire, fiber-optic cable, coaxial cable to improve Internet speeds.

One company providing extensive services in the Ethernet Extenders space Patton (News - Alert) Electronics, a player in the business-class network access, connectivity, and VoIP equipment. The company says it has continued to increase transparency and is moving the ISDN market in an increasingly important direction.

In fact, the Patton CopperLink and FiberLink Ethernet extension solutions have extended its Ethernet services for users often located far beyond standard Ethernet distance limitations.

Since 1999, Patton’s CAT5 Ethernet Extenders have continuously achieved longer Ethernet range for LAN extension over copper and fiber-optic media at increasingly faster rates. One recent example is the Chautauqua County Home nursing facility, which recently received a “fat pipe” on their relatively small budget with Patton Electronics’ IPLink Inverse Mux.

Patton was able to deliver its IPLink Model 2888 Inverse Mux that bonds up to 4 T1 (or E1) circuits into a single high-speed channel at up to 8 Mbps. Employing Multi-Link Point-to-Point Protocol (MLPPP). In addition, Patton’s Inverse Mux builds a transparent Ethernet bridge with load-leveling and self-healing redundancy.

Today Patton’s fiber and copper Ethernet Extender solutions are "going the distance" for WAN and LAN extension in local and wide-area networks around the world. Whether you're extending Ethernet distance over copper or fiber-optic, within your building, across the street, or over your campus, you can count on Patton for all your long-range Ethernet extension needs.

The Patton CopperLink and FiberLink Ethernet extension solutions to extend Ethernet services to your users located far beyond Ethernet distance limitations.

With Patton's Ethernet Extender solutions you can extend long-range Ethernet over fiber-optic or twisted-pair cables. Patton's innovative Ethernet repeater technology makes it easy for you to break the 328 feet Ethernet distance limit with CAT5 Extender solutions. Our Ethernet extenders can extend the distance of your Ethernet segments up to 5 miles over a single twisted pair.

Don’t forget to check out TMCnet’s White Paper Library, which provides a selection of in-depth information on relevant topics affecting the IP Communications industry. The library offers white papers, case studies and other documents which are free to registered users. Today’s featured white paper is Fixed Service Strategies for Mobile Network Operators, brought to you by Comverse (News - Alert).
